Wildlife Photography Hides in Bahrain

Bahrain is a small island nation in the Arabian Gulf with a disproportionately significant wildlife photography asset: Hawar Islands, a UNESCO-nominated archipelago at the southern tip of the country, hosts the world's largest Socotra Cormorant colony — approximately 100,000 breeding pairs of this near-endemic Gulf species concentrated in a single location, creating one of the most dramatic seabird spectacles in the Arabian region. The islands also hold breeding Sooty Falcon, Osprey, and important Dugong feeding grounds in the shallow seagrass beds. Tubli Bay on the main island is Bahrain's most productive birding site for migratory shorebirds and waterbirds, with Kentish Plover, Dunlin, and Curlew Sandpiper present in winter alongside occasional rare waders.
