HideFinder

Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Welcome to HideFinder. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HideFinder website at hidefinder.comand the HideFinder mobile app (together, "HideFinder" or the "Service"), operated by Andrei Tanasie ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using HideFinder, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

HideFinder is a directory of wildlife-photography hides, guided tours, workshops and self-guided sites worldwide, with search, mapping and planning tools to help you discover locations. HideFinder is an information service only; we do not sell, operate or arrange any hide, tour or workshop.

2. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of HideFinder after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

3. Ownership of the Directory

All content made available through HideFinder — including the compilation of hides, tours, workshops and their associated data (locations, species, descriptions, seasons and other fields), together "the Directory" — is owned by HideFinder and protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual-property rights. The selection, arrangement and compilation of the Directory is our original work.

Permitted use. HideFinder is provided for your personal use to discover and plan wildlife-photography locations through our website and mobile app.

Prohibited use. You may not, and may not permit any third party or automated agent to: (a) access, scrape, crawl, harvest, index or copy the Directory or any substantial part of it by automated means (including bots, scripts or scrapers), except by general-purpose search engines acting in accordance with our robots.txt; (b) extract, download, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell or sublicense all or a substantial part of the Directory, in original or modified form; (c) use the Directory or any part of it to build, train or populate a competing product, service, dataset or database; (d) circumvent, disable or interfere with any rate-limiting, access-control or other technical measure protecting the Directory; or (e) use the APIs, endpoints or access keys underlying the website or app other than as part of normal use of the website or app.

Reservation of rights. These Terms grant you no right, title or interest in the Directory beyond the limited use described above. We reserve all rights not expressly granted and may suspend access and pursue available legal remedies for any breach of this section.

4. Third-party listings, links and operators

HideFinder is a directory. Listings describe hides, tours, workshops and sites operated by independent third parties, and may link to third-party websites and booking pages. We do not own, operate, control or endorse these third parties or their websites, and we are not a party to any booking, transaction or arrangement between you and an operator.

Listing details — including locations, prices, seasons, availability, contact details and links — are compiled from publicly available sources and were believed accurate and, where links are provided, functional at the time of the relevant release or update of the website and app. We do not warrant that they remain accurate, current, complete or available; third-party sites and details can change or go offline at any time.

Your dealings with any operator, and any use of a third-party website, are solely between you and that third party, at your own risk, and subject to that third party's own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible or liable for any third-party content, availability, conduct, goods or services, or for any loss arising from them.

Always verify current details — price, availability, access, permits and safety — directly with the operator before travelling or booking.

5. User submissions

If you submit a listing, correction or other content to us (for example via a submission or claim form), you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish and display that content within the Service. We may accept, reject, edit or remove any submission at our discretion.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HideFinder to break any law, infringe anyone's rights, disrupt or overload the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or its underlying systems.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

HideFinder is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service or any listing information is accurate, complete, current, reliable or available, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Wildlife photography and travel involve inherent risks; you are responsible for your own safety, permits, insurance and compliance with local laws.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) HideFinder, your reliance on any listing information, or your dealings with any third-party operator. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and any dispute relating to them or to HideFinder is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Swiss courts, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
