Nemunas Delta – Curonian Spit – Kaunas

7-day wildlife photography and birdwatching tour combining the Nemunas Delta — Lithuania's most important wetland — with the Curonian Spit and Kaunas surroundings. Ventė Cape – Nemunas Delta, Šilutė district

Guided canoe tour through the waterways of the Nemunas Delta to Ventė Cape — one of the top raptor migration watchpoints in northern Europe. The tour includes a visit to the Ventė Cape Ornithological Station, where up to 500,000 birds pass per day during peak autumn migration and 80,000 birds are ringed annually. Red-necked Grebe, Bittern, White-tailed Eagle and Eurasian Beaver are regularly seen from the canoes. Curonian Spit – Nemunas Delta – Ventė Cape, Nida

Guided high-speed boat tour from Nida on the Curonian Spit across the Curonian Lagoon to Ventė Cape, visiting the historic Mingė village ("Venice of Lithuania"), Kniaupas Bay and Uostadvaris Lighthouse. The highlight is a guided visit to Ventė Cape Ornithological Station — one of Europe's most active ringing stations — where guests can watch and sometimes participate in bird ringing with the ornithologists. ~5 hours. Čepkeliai – Dzūkija National Park, south Lithuania

Čepkeliai is Lithuania's largest mire and holds the country's largest Capercaillie population — described as "the only place in Lithuania where you can see Capercaillie from up close." Mandatory guided access through the Dzūkija National Park visitor centre. Tours depart Tuesday–Saturday at 10:00, 13:00 and 15:00 (advance booking required on weekends). April–June requires mandatory guide at all times; August–March allows independent walking on the trail. Adults €6/person, concessions €3/person. Nemunas Delta – Kintai, Šilutė district

Full-day eagle hide session (8–10 hours) at a White-tailed Eagle feeding station in the Kintai area of the Nemunas Delta. Modern 6×2.5m wooden hide with LPG heating, bio toilet and one-way mirror glass at eye level. Operated by Wet Weim Adventures from their base in Rusnė village. Pašiliai – Krekenava Regional Park, near Panevėžys

The only place in Lithuania where European Bison roam freely — reintroduction began here in 1969 and the herd has grown steadily. An observation platform and covered tower overlook the bison paddock and surrounding meadows. 28 km south of Panevėžys on Route 195, well signposted. Free entry to the observation platform; guided tours €10–30 per person available through Panevėžys tourist information. Ventė Cape – Curonian Spit – South Lithuania

Nemunas Delta – Kintai, Šilutė district

One of the best eagle photography hides in the Baltic States — a 6×2.5m wooden structure with LPG heating, bio toilet and armchairs, positioned for close White-tailed Eagle encounters at a feeding station in the Nemunas Delta. Viewing at two heights: 0–60cm direct or 110cm through one-way mirror glass. 28 species have been documented from the hide including Peregrine Falcon and Marsh Harrier. Operated by Boris Belchev (Alcedo Wildlife / 4Eagles), who has run wildlife photography in Lithuania since 2007. Žuvintas – near Marijampolė

Lithuania's oldest nature reserve and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Žuvintas holds the country's largest crane population and is the most important inland wetland for globally threatened Aquatic Warbler (Lithuania has ~250–300 pairs, one of the largest populations in Europe). The reserve has an observation tower and educational trail accessible for self-guided visits. Spotted and Little Crake, Corncrake, Black Grouse and Bittern also breed. Best March–October. An observation platform overlooks the reed beds where Aquatic Warblers sing at dawn in May–June. No entry fee for the trail and tower.
